Accounts Receivable Accountant I

The Accounts Receivable Accountant I will provide support for the AR team. The position provides financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring the company receives payments for goods and properly records the transactions by posting receipts and resolving discrepancies in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

Cash Management and Reconciliation

  • Accurate and Timely Processing: Efficiently enter and reconcile cash receipts and lockbox deposits weekly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Portfolio Management: Actively manage a designated portfolio of client collection accounts, monitoring outstanding balances and taking appropriate action to facilitate timely payment.
  • Backup Support: Serve as a reliable backup for auto-draft accounting processes, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Daily Deposit Oversight: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of daily deposit entries and reconciliations.

Client and Financial Operations

  • Refund Processing: Prepare and submit client refund requests promptly and accurately as needed.
  • Rebates and Guarantees: Prepare and review quarterly rebates and pricing guarantees to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Versatility: Perform various accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as management assigns, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.

Month-End and Audit Support

  • Reconciliation: Prepare and analyze month-end reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Audit Assistance: Actively participate in the annual external financial statement audit by preparing and providing necessary documentation.

General Duties

  • Diligence: Fulfill all other assigned duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing Accounts Receivable training and cross-training initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 0 – 2 years’ experience in an accounting role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Strong math aptitude and the ability to work accurately with numbers is essential
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously to meet deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Highly collaborative team player with initiative
