As a Company Accounts Billing AR Specialist II, you will demonstrate competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to their customer populations and departmental services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with the Company Accounts Billing AR Specialist Team Lead, and Supervisor to spot trends evaluate, and rectify billing issues.?
- Duties include, but are not limited to;
- Research systems to provide updated demographic information
- Review accounts in the billing system to verify claim handling was appropriate
- Update claims and reprocess as necessary
- Review and update posted adjustments as necessary
- Review Invoices and Remits for accuracy of payment posting
- Locate and post checks that have not been posted to the system
- Ability to delegate work to other team members and departments as necessary
- Research contract inquiries and provide information to manager regarding the handling of the contract account and launch case investigations with billing service to instruct on proper account handling (i.e. registration errors, claims handled incorrectly, etc.).

- Assist with escalations from Customer Service Representative, PI Billing Representative I &II and AR Specialist I, and Company Accounts Representatives when necessary
- Report any trending errors/issues to the Supervisor
- Follow up meetings as needed with Management Team
- Follow up with insurances and/or attorneys on claims balances
- Use coded data to produce and submit claims to Contracted accounts using CMS 1500 forms or Contract Invoices
- Work directly with the Contract Account to get a claim processed and paid, such as verifying the date of the service, claims address, and contact information.
- May be responsible for, or assist in new employee training
- Handle AR follow up and collections on unpaid accounts
- Conducts special projects as assigned
- HIPAA compliant in all aspects of the positions
- Promotes HIPAA compliance
*Minimum 120 accounts worked per day
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS: Demonstrates competencies in customer service and an understanding of SimonMed Imaging’s code of conduct and culture.
EQUIPMENT: Utilizes and operates equipment and mechanical devices which provide for a functional, effective, and safe environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have High School diploma with 5 or more years of experience in full RCM. Must have knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Advanced Knowledge of Medical Billing and insurance follow up and collections. Must be able to communicate effectively with attorneys, other SMI employees, patients, and the public and establish good working relationships with internal and external customers. Must be proficient in telephone etiquette.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Remote position; must have a dedicated, quiet workspace and a reliable internet connection. Standard work hours with some flexibility required to accommodate varying time zones or office hours. May require prolonged periods of sitting and extensive work on a computer. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Must be able to work in an environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
DRESS ATTIRE: Business/Administrative wear in office. Casual clothing should adhere to dress code policies when on camera.
