Blueprint is seeking a Controller who will lead the company’s accounting function and engage closely with the leadership team on business process and systems improvements. The Controller will own the accounting processes, including but not limited to: maintaining an adequate system of accounting records, cash management, audit management and maintenance of effective controls. This position is designed to enhance the Company’s accounting and payroll processes, provide insights into Company performance, mitigate risk and ensure all reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other guidelines, as appropriate.
What You’ll Do
- Own and lead the Accounting function, including daily accounting operations, tax, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and all general ledger activities
- Review, analyze, and prepare consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules, including balance-sheet reconciliation, in accordance with the monthly close schedule
- Assist budget and forecasting activities, and variance analyses
- Monitor and analyze department workflow; establish more efficient policies, procedures, controls, and use of resources
- Conduct monthly flux analysis on balance sheet and income / expense accounts.
- Lead bi-weekly payroll processing
- Assist with various ad hoc projects and ongoing efforts toward increased automation
- Own applicable local, state and federal tax, business filings and other requirements
- Ensure that payments, reporting, and reimbursements are accurate, consistent and timely
- Develop and drive vital financial policies, procedures, and systems to scale Accounting with business growth; lead the creation and maintenance of related documentation
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual investor and lender reporting
- Assist in all external audits, including working in conjunction with external auditors
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus
- CPA preferred
- Corporate General Ledger (G/L) experience
- Netsuite experience preferred
- At least five (5) years of Accounting Experience
- At least two (2) years of Public Accounting Experience
- Superb knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong technical accounting foundation, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (index match, v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
- An agile, can-do mindset with a “roll up your sleeves” approach
- Strong strategic skills, analytical skills and digitally savvy
- Exceptional project management experience and attention to detail
- Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to show leadership, work alongside and present to senior management
