Our Accounting & Reporting team is seeking Sr Accountant to support our Inventory business units.

** This role is being offered remote full time – If you reside in the Seattle, WA area there may be occasional in office work required.

A day in the life…

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for the more complex accounting and analysis activities related to merchandise inventory and cost of goods sold transactions, the core of our business. This role benefits from a systematic and analytical skill set, combined with a strong accounting foundation, given the complexities of our omnichannel merchandising ecosystem.

  • Contribute to month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial results in compliance with GAAP and accounting policies
  • Accurately analyze, report on and reconcile inventory and merchandise margin results, summarize activity, resolve reconciling differences appropriately
  • Accurately analyze and report on physical inventory count results across stores and supply chain facilities
  • Analyze and record judgmental reserves and accruals related to excess and obsolete inventory, improve predictive modeling and precision of margin results
  • Critically review and accurately record transactions into the general ledger, including understanding upstream systems, business processes and interfaces/feeds, and required GAAP adjustments
  • Support planning and forecasting processes, and understand the Balance Sheet, P&L and cash flow statement impacts of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items
  • Able to analyze and articulate business performance and financial drivers
  • Recommend and drive improvements to merchandise and general ledger systems and upstream business processes
  • Assist in quarterly and annual external audit requests
  • Perform ad-hoc projects, and support broader ongoing strategies as the business evolves
  • Strives to exceed goals and expectations

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Previous inventory accounting experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience in applying a systems thinking approach to problem solving highly valued.
  • Ability to look at various systems and identify opportunities to improve connectivity and functionality preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Oracle General Ledger and Retail Merchandising System
  • Experience with SQL and database fundamentals a plus

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California: $69,500 – $144,000 Annually, Colorado: $69,500 – $115,000 Annually, Connecticut: $69,500 – $132,000 Annually, District of Columbia: $80,000 – $132,000 Annually, Maryland: $69,500 – $115,000 Annually, Nevada: $69,500 – $115,000 Annually, New York: $69,500 – $144,000 Annually, Rhode Island: $69,500 – $115,000 Annually, Washington: $69,500 – $132,000 Annually
